A brief example of what Phishing is.

New Tricks of a Browser Look Familiar - New York Times: "(An example of a phishing fraud is an e-mail message that says, 'Your eBay account will soon be closed; click here for details.' Worried, you click the provided link and confirm your account information. Unfortunately, you've just handed over your credit card and account numbers to the Internet baddies, who have set up a fake eBay screen just for suckers like you.)"

New Tricks of a Browser Look Familiar - New York Times:
I guess that since Microsoft is about to release a new browser that there is a bunch of attention now to the topic of browsers. The only reason that I ever open up Internet Explorer is to see how a new web page I've made renders in it.

It is a curious thing that this old, outdated, easy-to-hack browser is still the option of choice for 85% of internet users. Or is it? As this article in the New York Times asks:
"In what other industry would 85 percent of consumers choose such a product — when better ones, also free, were also available?"

The answer is given in the article's following paragraph:"Trick question. Those consumers aren't actually choosing Internet Explorer; in fact, they're not choosing. They just use what came on their Windows computers. Thanks to this built-in following, Microsoft hasn't felt much need to keep Internet Explorer current. Version 6 has been creaking along for five years — an eternity in Internet time."

So the new version of IE is going to feature the features that the rest of us have been enjoying for the last several years in Firefox, Opera, and Safari.

There is a version of the new Microsoft browser available by clicking here.

The article finished by saying: "If you want the best browser on the market, several million fans will recommend that you look at programs like Firefox or Opera."

CSS & Validator Links

I am having a problem getting a CSS defined background to a CSS element #header to show in Firefox. I did a search for the problem and found a pretty good thread about the problem at Webmaster world. The general consensus was that IE is non-standards compliant, and Firefox is. So one should write for Firefox and it'll all render in IE. Below are a couple-a links to validators.
CSS Validator
HTML Validator

I just found a link specific to background images and how to make them appear:

DNS Report

This site offers a test of DNS integrity. There have been some site hijackings based on insecure DNS practices on the part of some ISPs. This site offers a test for your ISP.

This site will provide you with a DNS report for your domain. A very large percentage of domains have DNS problems; this site will help you find those problems and fix them. Also, the "Mail Test" tool will help find mail delivery problems for your domain. This site is a sister site to www.DNSstuff.com, which has many other DNS and networking tools.

We also have forums, where you can ask questions and find out more information about the DNS reports.

For the DNS Report, all you need to do is enter the domain name you wish to have the report made for. You need to enter the domain name ("example.com"), not the host name ("www.example.com"). Note that IP addresses don't work here. Also, the DNS report may connect to the mail server(s) for your domain; if it does, the mail server(s) will have access to your IP in their logs (to help prevent abuse).
